Fruit of a tree is the evidence that a tree is what it was created to be. The Fruit of the Spirit in our life is the evidence that we are the Sons and Daughters of God. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Self-Control, Faithfulness, and Goodness are all to be an evidence in and through our lives. Why? Because the Holy Spirit of God has taken up His residence in our Spirit and we now walk in the Spirit and because we do we simply do not carry out the lust of the flesh. Many Christians get it backwards and believe if they don't carry out the lust of the flesh they'll walk in the Spirit. The Fruit of the Spirit is the by product of walking in the Spirit. Over the next nine weeks we will talk about what each fruit represents in our life.
